“Powerful, delicious and elegant, its red berry bouquet reveals aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and peppery spices in the mouth. They reappear on the palate after the very appealing initial attack. This balanced softness and unctuousness leads up to a silky finish. The main component in this blend, Mourvèdre is combined with the full-bodied texture of Grenache.”

2010 Pelassa Antaniolo Nebbiolo Riserva (Roero) Piedmont $38.99/$33.39/$30.05

“Piedmont is home to two of the most renowned wines in Italy: Barolo and Barbaresco. Both of these sought after wines are made from the Nebbiolo grape. 2015 Domaine de la Bastide Blanche Rouge Bandol $32.99/$26.19/$23.57

The primary grape that flourishes in Bandol is Mourvèdre. One of the best producers in Bandol is La Bastide Blanche. The La Bastide Blanche Bandol Rouge is a blend of primarily Mourvèdre with some Grenache and Cinsault. The terroir of Bandol is rich in limestone, and the high proportion of Mourvèdre gives this domaine some of the most ripe and expressive of Bandol. New vintage.

“A blend of 70% Frappato and 30% Nero d'Avola, this boasts enticing scents of fragrant blue flower, rose and ripe dark-skinned berry. 2014 Avennia Les Trouvés Red Columbia Valley $26.99/$19.99/$17.99

One of Washington’s rising stars. Chris Peterson and Marty Taucher have focused their first Les Trouvés wines on the style of southern France. The red is a blend of 62% Mourvèdre, 21% Syrah and 17% Grenache. They have grown Avennia from 1,100 cases in the inaugural 2010 vintage to 3,100 today. They figure they will top out Avennia at about 4,500 cases. New vintage.

2014 Brandborg Vineyard Bench Lands Pinot Noir Umpqua Valley

“Aromas are dominated by ripe red cherries, blueberries, hints of cranberry with overtones of wild mountain meadow herbs and wild flowers. The flavors add raspberries to the cherries, with some orange pith, coffee and mocha. The wine’s mouthfeel is filling and supple. The acidity gives it a nice zing, to complement a moderately long finish.” –Winemaker notes. New vintage.

2014 Luca Bosio Barbera d'Asti Piedmont $23.99/$12.99/$11.69

The fragrance is rich with black fruit, especially blackberry and plum, with hints of spice. The tannins are sweet and soft. The fresh acidity gives flavor and long aftertaste. New item.

“The 2016 Viognier was all about picking time. With the hot spring and early summer, we visited the vineyard three times a week. We picked early to maintain freshness, which was accomplished in the resulting juice. Notes of white peach in the nose as well as lemon and stone fruit. More lean than 2015 with peach persisting in the mouth. Long and broad finish. Will drink well through 2022.” -Winemaker notes New vintage.
