“Aromas of violet, lavender, bramble berries and currents. The palate reflects this warm vintage wine with medium weight, bright acidity and showcases the secondary notes of the fruit. Gamey nose with hints of tobacco and cedar. Flavors of brambly fruits, loganberry and spice persist in the mouth. The stem tannin leaves a lovely texture on the extremely long finish. Dark fruits and a touch of chocolate mark this largely Cabernet Sauvignon wine that has smaller parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc blended in. 2016 Château Teulon Rouge Costières-de-Nîmes $9.99/$7.49/$6.74

Although Château Teulon’s wines are relatively new to the United States, they are not a new estate. The family has actually farmed vineyards in the village of Saint Gilles, just south of Nîmes, since 1703. “Gorgeous purity along with abundant notes of cranberries, black cherries, black currants, crushed rocks and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully pure and textured. 60%Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre.” –Winemaker notes. New item.
