The Leschi Market Wine Team had the opportunity to create a merlot focused blend from Sagemoor’s esteemed Weinbau Vineyard. This experience was about as hands on as one can get! Borrowing the deli’s measuring cups, the wine team used various merlot from different vineyard blocks to ‘scientifically’ blend together the best attributes of each. The finished product is rich and fleshy with black currant, blueberry and crushed rose petal notes that give way to fine tannin and lively complexity. You will love the rich and fleshy flavors of black currant, blueberry and crushed rose petal flowing to a long, elegant finish. Mixed aromatics of plum, violets, and cherry on the nose. This wine is made from 100% Walla Walla Valley fruit! White gold in color with fresh aromas of macadamia nut and almond, complemented by notes of marzipan, peaches, baking spice, and citrus blossom. Displaying a complex evolution of flavors, from the ripe lemon, tangerine, and pear, to almond and toasted brioche. Rich with a balanced acidity and a mouth-filling texture, this blend has a long, toasty finish with a touch of salinity.
